To produce a unique live stream at the iconic Edinburgh club Sneaky Pete’s, to celebrate its inclusion in DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs. We had full creative rein over the production and two great artists to work with, Telfort and Taahliah.
Sneaky Pete's holds a special place in our hearts. We spent over 8 years of our youth running parties there every Wednesday night. And so when we were asked if we wanted to produce a unique live stream there for DJ Mag’s top 100 Clubs, we jumped at the chance.
Our vision for the production was use the small size of the club as a feature, to create an intimate perspective of the artists at work and provide different sense of the space. Rather than hide them away in the booth, we opted to position the DJs in the centre of the dancefloor and shoot down towards the bar area, to give a greater sense of depth to the scene.
We enlisted the help of our super-talented friend Sam Jones, who fitted the club out with Titan Tubes and an array of other flashy lights. Martin Sweeny of Unstable Creations added projection mapping, featuring video clips of the crowds from various events at Sneaky Pete’s over several years (including some of our very own Witness nights).
We made use of a six-camera setup, with motorised sliders and jibs from Edelkrone to give movement to our unmanned cameras.
We were delighted with the result of the stream. Check out both mixes in the video above.
